Corrective discipline ~
zzz
1308-16 Discipline - It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes. -Psalm 119:71,67,92 -Hebrews 12:8,5-13 - No parent likes the duty of causing a child pain to administer discipline. However, life's most painful lessons are the longest remembered. Affliction teaches the necessity of obeying God's Word. Therefore, consider discipline in an enlightened view. For whom the Lord loves, He corrects. Proverbs 3:11-12. Correction and discipline are evidence of God's love. To let a child have his or her own way is folly. To be without chastening is neglect. It is better to be reprimanded and disciplined than to be allowed to willfully follow one's own path and thus be uncorrected and unloved. Those who would enjoy the dignity and privileges of being in God's family must be willing to submit to His corrective discipline.
